Zintoma

Treatment and prophylaxis of nausea and emesis in cases of motion sickness and pregnancy . Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Dosage

One to two capsules 2-4 times a day for the treament of nausea and vomiting.

 For the treatment of motion sickness one – two capsules half to one hour before the trip is used in adults and children older than 6 years of age.

Contraindication

The use of ginger is contraindicated in patients with gallstones. A daily dose of  2g of  dried ginger  should not be exceeded in pregnancy . Proceed with caution in cases of peptic ulceration  or other gastric diseases.

Interactions:

 Ginger may increase the absorption of pharmaceutical drugs. Ginger may increase warfarin or aspirin induced hemorrhage.

 Pregnancy and Lactation:

No adverse effects are reported so far.

Side effects :Ginger at higher doses may show an anticoagulant action and an increase in gastric secretary activity leading to heart burn . Ginger may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

 Alkaloids (eg : gentialutine , gentianine) ,Glycosides ( anaroswerin , amaropanin )

 Volatile oils ( bisabolene , zingiberene , gingerols , zingiberole ) .
